Erosion begins to wear rock away
Slowly eating day after day
The earth swallows the ocean whole
Spat back out to represent soul.
Reeds and rushes grow from clay
As weeds look eager at skies grey
How mud so thick can catch so much
Encased so deep and wet to touch.
Flowers open to the growing wood
Trees lay down as they know they should
As the storm rages above to rain below
Encouraging new life to begin to grow.
All seasons all life reliant thus
Day after day so little fuss
As awe inspiring as a fleeting look
Is nothing compared to the time it took.
